For people of faith who chafe at super clean happy talk Christian movies, a new film, Full of Grace, has just released nationwide. Written and directed by my friend Andrew Hyatt, the picture is a moving meditation on the last earthly days of the Virgin Mary. It features a flawless performance by Bahia Haifi as the mother of God who, as the end of her life approaches, confronts the doubts of her son’s followers and dissension within the church. Beautifully shot, emotional and with a cooler, more art house-style approach than most films on religious subjects, it’s well worth watching.
